Ingredients:
2 cups any green leaves, chopped
1tsp vadaam
1/2 cup onion, finely chopped
2 tsp jeera
4 tsp rice
1/4 inch ginger
1cup coconut milk
2tsp oil
Salt to taste
Method:
- Soak rice and jeera for an hour and grind along with ginger.
- Sieve the ground mixture and set aside.
- Heat oil and fry vadaam.
- Then add onion, sauté till it turns light brown
- Add green leaves and sauté for a minute.
- Add 1 cup water and salt.
- Let it cook for 5 minutes.
- Now add sieved ground mixture
- When it becomes slightly thick, add coconut milk and close the sauce pan.
- Stop the stove once you see the bubbles start touching the lid.
- Serve Thani Saaru with rice.
