1/2 tsp mustard
1/2 tsp urad dal
1lb squid tubes, cut like thick ring
1 onion, finely chopped
1 tomato, finely chopped
1 green chilly, slit lengthwise
1/2 tsp cumin powder
1/2 tsp coriander powder
1/2 tsp red chilly powder
1/4 tsp turmeric powder
1 tbsp ginger garlic paste
few curry leaves

- Heat oil in the pan and then add mustard. Let it crackles.
- Now add urad dal. When it turns golden brown, add onion, chilly, salt and curry leaves.
- Cook till the onion turns translucent. Now add ginger garlic paste and stir for 2 min.
- Add tomato and cook till it becomes very soft. Now add all the masala powder and cook for 2 min.
- Add squid tubes and stir it. Now add 2 cups water and close the lid.
- Cook till the squid become soft( should be easy to peel with your fingers) and masala thickens.
- Garnish with coriander leaves.
