Ingredients:
- 1 onion finely chopped
- 1 tomato, chopped
- 3 green chillies
- 3 potatoes, cut into small pieces
- 1 carrot, cut into small pieces
- 3 eggplant, cut into small pieces
- 1/2 cup chana dal
- 3/4 cup coconut
- 1/2 inch cinnamon sticks
- 3 cloves
- 2 cardamom
- 2 tsp ginger garlic paste
- Salt
- Oil
- Few curry leaves
- Few corriander leaves
Method:
- Cook chana dal in the pressure cooker and keep it aside.
- Heat 2 tsp oil in the pressure cooker.
- Add cinnamon,cloves,cardamom and wait until it cracks.
- Then add onion and sauté well till it turns translucent.
- Add ginger garlic paste,curry leaves and tomato one by one and keep stirring.
- When the tomato becomes soft, add all the vegetables and mix well.
- Grind green chillies with little water and add it to the sautéed vegetables.
- Add salt and 1 cup water,then close the pressure cooker and wait for 3 whistles.
- Switch off and open the pressure cooker then add ground coconut paste.
- Give a nice stir and allow the kadappa to boil for 2 min.
- Now add cooked chana dal and mix well.
- Switch off and garnish kadappa with corriander leaves.
- Serve it with idly.
