It was to be a very wet morning for the 40 Plus riders gathered at Jenny's. It was the sort of day that flints get washed into the road causing punctures - we had three - I had two on my brand new Gatorskins. Fortunately, Peter Ridealgh, today's ride leader had a VAR tyre lever (modelled here by Peter Bullen) with him. It is a very good tool which makes it so much easier to get that last bit of tyre on and perhaps more importantly reduces the chance of pinching the inner tube. SPA Cycles sell it for £7.50 and there is a 5 star review on bikeradar.
