Aims
- To provide learning experiences that challenge and extend students’ beliefs about physical activity and its role in their lifestyle
- To foster relationships and social skills
- To acquire and develop physical skills and understand factors that influence skill acquisition
- To encourage a respect for the environment by emphasising safe practice and conservation
- To implement and evaluate a range of activities and their influence on people’s health and wellbeing

- Sport Performance — White water Kayaking and Triathlon
- Anatomy and Biomechanics
- Sociology of Sport
- Sports Psychology and Motor Skill Learning
- Health Promotion
Assessment
Assessments are both practical and written. All assessments are internal.
Qualification gained
Full course completion — 20 credits NCEA Level 3 Physical Education

Entry requirements
Completion of NCEA Level 1 and/or Level 2 Physical Education. A genuine interest in both the academic and practical dimensions of physical activity and physical education.
