NCEA Level 3 Painting
Aims
- To study, in depth, painting processes in a chosen area through the study of historical and contemporary established practice;
- To develop skills so that the student can demonstrate understanding by making visual responses to her chosen subject and models.
Course Content
Each student is expected to work independently, setting her own goals and writing her own schedule. It is essential that she develop good work habits. At the end of the year the student should have a body of work to use as a portfolio for application to a tertiary institution.
Assessment
There are a variety of assessment tasks and school examinations. Externally assessed topics are examined nationally at the end of the year.

Full course completion — 22-26 credits in NCEA Visual Arts Level 3
