This is an introductory course in manual and computer drafting. Students will work through progressions of pictorial drawings, orthographic projections and working drawings. The AutoDesk suite (AutoCAD, Inventor, Revit and Fusion 360) is used for both 2D and 3D representations of project designs. Projects will be built using the 3D printer and the laser engraver. It is strongly recommended that students thinking of trades programs, engineering, or design careers should take this course.

The emphasis of the program is on architectural or mechanical drafting. If students wish to focus on architectural drafting, various presentation drawings and a full working drawing of a three-bedroom bungalow or a tiny home to building code standards will be produced along with a 3D model. If students choose a mechanical drafting focus, various presentation drawings, working drawings and assembly drawings of a product will be produced. Most of this course will be spent on AutoCAD/REVIT for architectural and Inventor/Fusion 360 for Mechanical.
