This course is intended for students who want to explore their artistic side with metal while creating beautiful pieces of art to display or wear. This is a grade 10-12 mixed class. First-year students, regardless of grade level, will begin with the basics and progress as they develop skills.
Students will have the opportunity to create a variety of projects using a number of techniques that are commonly found in the industry.
Students can expect to learn and develop skills in:
ring design, ring making, stone setting, lost wax casting,
wire sculpture, sheet metal construction with brass, copper, or silver,
pendant and necklace making plus a variety of metal finishing techniques.
