The subject of my creation was a mountain range with well known Indian landmarks on it. The work was made using acrylic paint that I blended and used different shades to create a sunrise and I also painted the monuments and the skyline using black acrylic paint. I chose to create this specific artwork because I felt that it would be a cool concept to relate back to my artist inspired drawing and do another piece of artwork that revolves around India.
I used informal balance by making sure that the average amount of black negative space was semi even and that there were two elephants so it wouldn’t look odd only having one elephant. My project evolved from an image of only the landscape and the sky to having elephants on the bottom which eventually evolved into elephants with the indian dress attire.
The meaning behind the artwork is to create a clean looking piece of artwork that looks nice and has a story of my culture having indian ancestors. My project relates to my life because I have Indian ancestors who are from India and that makes me part indian and the project involves which is where the connection is made. I think my project could be stronger if I added more layers of white paint so it wasn’t quite as transparent.
