Color Study

The subject of my creation was a color strip. The work was made using acrylic paint and I made one color strip with a primary color which was blue and one with a secondary color which was purple. I chose to create this piece because I wanted to test my ability to make different shades of colors.

I used leading lines because every single shade has two lines where the other shades are met together without blending. My project evolved from a blank canvas to a canvas that has two different colors on it and each one has ten shades of that color.

The meaning behind the artwork was to create a canvas that had these colors and their shades where the blank canvas is not visible. My project relates to my life because everyday I see these colors and their shades and I thought it would be cool to paint these colors. I think that my artwork could be better if I had made sure that I had taped each section but I was running out of time and I was still careful to make sure the line were semi straight and not completely random.
