Leaf Art

The subject was the leaves and I used intentional white space to make the leaves pop of the paper where I decided to color the background which gave depth to the leaves making them pop off the page. The work was made with a pencil and colored pencil. I used the colored pencil to add color to the background of the artwork. I chose to use leaves because I thought that they had great and intricate outline which would make for a cool drawing.

I think that I used leading lines to really make the outline of the leaves pop against the colored background. My project evolved from a standard outline of the l;eaves to a fully colored in background with a rich black outline that was made with sharpie.

The meaning behind the art was that was to show an autumn theme. I did this by adding colors specifically that were in coalition with fall like red yellow orange and brown. My project relates to my life because during the fall when I walk outside I see those fall colors and those fall colors are mainly displayed by the leaves. I think my art work could be better if I had blended the colors and made sure that there was even amount of color for each of the groups.
