The subject of my creations are all different one is a turtle on a ball the other one is a moon and the final one is santa claus. My work was made using brown clay that I later under glazed on the moon and I used glaze on the other two spheres. I chose to create these specific pieces because I felt it would be cool to make three different but themed spheres to learn my capabilities.
I used contrast in the glaze colors to allow different aspects of each sphere to be highlighted. My project evolved from a solid block of clay into multiple brown pinch pots that were then assembled into spheres that I then added on to to create the different subjects on the spheres.
The meaning behind my artwork is to create something that highlights my first attempt at ceramics and shows a base line for what I might later make out of clay. My project relates to my life because I have been around all three subject my entire life on way or another whether it is looking at the moon or watching a turtle cross the road or it might be seeing santa claus in christmas movies as a kid. I think my artwork could be stronger if I had the chance to start over and improve upon what need to be worked on. On the turtle I used glazes 27 and 20 on the moon I used a black under glaze and on santa I used HF 1 and two other glazes a white pc and a red glaze.
