Perspective

The subject of the top drawing was the inside of a building or a room. The setting of the bottom drawing was the hallway facing towards the cafeteria from the mail part of the building. In the first drawing I used all graphite and did not come back and highlight it with a black marker. Whereas in the lower drawing I drew the whole thing using a graphite where I then later came back and Highlighted the whole thing using a fine point pen and then later decided to take the finepoint pen in different colors and colored certain things that made the artwork pop. I chose to create this because I thought that I would be difference compared to the other drawing where some people drew streets or a bedroom. The lower drawing I decided to go above and beyond by adding color to make it pop.

I used contrast to help make my piece of artwork pop out compared to some of the other drawings and also to make it attract the eye to certain parts of my artwork like the colored parts. Compared to the drawing on top this drawing was one where I didn’t use color but instead decided to keep it just a simple and using just graphite. My project evolved because at first I had a rug that didn’t look like it was laid down on the ground but instead was standing up on its own. My piece that is below the graphite drawing evolved from a simple graphite drawing to a fully fine point pen traced piece that has some color in specific areas.

The meaning of the artwork on top is that of a room that has a big kitchen table laying in the middle kind of like an abstract piece where there isn’t much organization and meaning to the location of the objects. My piece that is on the bottom has meaning because I thought that since we have some gay, trans and other different types of people that the bulletin board might be a way to represent the different types of people that go to our school. I also thought that is would be cool to add random initials to make the artwork seem like it was drawn by different kids who come from different points of view and different backgrounds. My projects relate to my life because since I am experiencing these different types of people and walking in this hallway every single day that I would incorporate these different features into my artwork. If I could redo these pieces of work I would make sure that I didn’t make as many marks outside of the lines I drew and that I had a little bit more time on the piece of work. If I could make a change to the piece of work that is on top I would have added more color and not left it just as a graphite drawing.
