Color Study Snowboard

The subject of my creation was a snowboard and there wasn’t a setting because the snowboard was painted to have a design. The work was made using acrylic paint and I used that a paint brush and a hair dryer to allow the paint to dry faster. I chose to create this piece because I wanted it to stand out compared to the other pieces of artwork that were made on canvas.

I used leading lines because every single life that is on the board was created using tape to allow for a clean and straight line between colors. My project evolved from a normal off the shelf snowboard into a sanded board then into a whiteboard with sketches that was later painted so it looks like what it does now.

The meaning behind the artwork was to create a snowboard that resembled the Sugarloaf logo since that is were I learned to ski and I have been going there ever since I was two. My project relates to my life because I ski at Sugarloaf every weekend during the winter since that is were our condo is. I think that my artwork could be better if I had made sure that the tape was on better and that some of the paint didn’t seep through.
