The subject of my creation was Duncan's face and the setting was in Spain since we were in spain on top of a castle when this photo was taken. The work was mostly made using charcoal but I used a little bit of ink on features like the strap around his neck that held up his passport any money holder. I chose to create this specific art work because I thought that it was a fun picture and wasn’t a picture of a dogs nose or a flower.
I use silhouette lighting to create shadows on his face. My project evolved form a rough drawing of his face into a completely shaded image of his face.
The meaning behind my artwork was to show how one's skills can relate to an image of something or someone else. My project relates to my life because I see Duncan everyday and he is a good friend that helps me with whatever I need. If I could make my artwork better I would try to blend some of Duncan’s teeth so that the teeth don't look like they have big dark shadows that don't fade in and is a solid line.
