Sustained Investigation #3

When You Bury Old Bones

5'' x 3''

Acrylic paint on canvas

The idea for this piece was originally in the form of a poem that I wrote in AP lit class last year, but after I created my inquiry question, I knew I wanted to put this idea on paper. I also wanted to play around with angles so I made one with a view from the bottom looking up, one straight on, and the last one is a bird's eye view. My favorite of the three is the skull daisies- they look the neatest and they don't have any weird white patches between the flowers and the background like the second one does. I would also add a greater range of values on the second flowers, so you could clearly see the highlights and shadows on the flowers.
