Water color on paper
For this first project, I used water colors on water color paper. I started the investigation using a material I knew I was comfortable with, but I did step out of my comfort zone with the setting on the painting. I don't usually draw full scenic paintings like this, because I prefer drawing/painting people. I really like how the sunflowers turned out and the trees in the background. Overall I think I achieved the fall vibe I was aiming for with this artwork. I wish I had added deeper values to the tree line in the background to show greater depth. I also which I had added more color to the grass and tree line to match the saturation of color in the sky, flowers, and the grass in the foreground in front of the skull, and to make the sunflowers stand out a little bit more. I also wished I had made the cracks in the skull smaller and lighter because they look a little awkward.
