Minimalism

Artists statement

For this project we were supposed to take a picture of something minimalist. I ended up taking a picture of this tumbleweed type plant thing in my yard. I took the photo sitting on the ground and took it looking up at the sky, the focus is more on the plant and how simple it is. Also gives the photo a story. The photo was taken outside and has the sky in the background. I chose to take this photo because it has the sky and it has a simple look to it.

This photo is an informal balance. Which is when the photo isn't even. the project evolved because I wanted to make something simple and having it include my concentration. First I was gonna take a photo of the sky with tree branches in it, coming from one side. That photo was too busy I thought. I decided to take this photo and ended up really liking it.

This image is simple but still can tell a story. I really like how it looks like a skeleton of a plant. Also how it will grow back soon to its regular form. Everything grows back and has a cycle of life that it goes through. I was thinking that maybe each season I will take a photo of this plant to see how it goes through the changes and see how different it looks. If i could change or fix something about this picture is maybe making the sky all the same shade of blue or taking the picture when the sky is all the same shade.
