.) The subject of my creations are a signed cube made from wire, and a stuffed animal giraffe made from wire.
.) I made there works by measuring out my stuffed animal, tracing the outline with wire, and using fish hook links to connect the pieces of wire to fill in the giraffe with needle- nose pliers.
.) We chose to create this piece of work so we can develop another real world skill, which is manipulating wire with fish hooks to create a realistic sculpture.
.) The techniques that I showcased in my work was being able to manipulate and connect wire so we wouldn't have loose and flimsy connections. By making sure that there was no space between the hook and the wire, it made our sculptures 10x sturdier.
.) In the beginning my model started out as a loose frame with poor connections. It was hard to get the hang of making the connections tight so they wouldn't slip. After lots of work my giraffe went from just an outline of a giraffe to a 3-D model.
.) I think the meaning behind the artwork is that it is very important to develop your skills in different areas of art. Many people were struggling with this project because hey have never used wire before, but after some time everyone was able to keep up with the project. I believe persistance was the meaning behind this project.
.) In the future, I might consider revising my work by redoing the frame. After all the connections were made, the frame of the giraffe was a little disproportionate, and because of the connections there wasn't much ability to move the frame.
