.) The subject is myself, and I have 2 pictures. One representing societies view of what ugly is, and societies view of what beautiful is.
.) I created this work by taking a photo of myself without makeup and one with makeup. I then used piccollage to put words all over my face and then made the photo black and white.
.) I chose to recreate this piece after Shirin Neshat because I really liked how her artwork made me feel. It didn't have any background information and the pictures were stripped of color and only the subject itself, and that's what made you think. I really wanted to recreate that with my work.
.) Not many techniques are showcased in my artwork because it was done on my device, but I'd say that I used the technique of grey scaling to make my photos black and white, and also editing to put words on my face.
.) The meaning behind this specific piece is that you can't judge a book by its cover, and also that the world has many different ideal standards of everything, but just because you are what the world wants you to be that doesn't mean you are what you truly want to be.
.) If I were to revise my work in the future it probably would be to take clearer photos. When I printed them out they were a little fuzzy and didn't look as good.
