.) The object of my creation is a self portrait. We were told to choose a position that we felt best represented ourselves as a person and our personality.
.) I used griding, graphite, and water colors to make this artwork. I used griding to one by one go into fine detail of each square so in the end all of the lines would match up to make up my face. I used graphite to sketch all of the different values in my face and in the end added a red water color background with a pop of red in my lips.
.) I chose to create this piece of artwork because we looked at the pieces by Chuck Close and we decided to use his technique of griding to make our own self portraits.
.) In my artwork I showcased the techniques of griding and blending to complete my artwork.
.) My project evolved from the beginning it was just a picture with grid marks on it and a piece of paper with the same exact grid marks, and then with graphite I showed the values within my picture.
.) The meaning behind my artwork is that if you go square by square paying close attention to detail and value it will all match up and make a pretty accurate picture.
.) In the future I might consider revising my artwork by going into even closer detail in the hair, and maybe working on my nose. I don't know why but the nose was the hardest part for me.
