Extended Blind

What is the subject of your creation?

I imagined that someone was experimenting with paint, finger painting and just messing around, and ending up with splashes of paint on their paper.

How was the work made? What materials did you use?

I created an abstract piece of are using markers, sharpie's and colored pencils.

Why did you choose to create that specific artwork?

I chose to create this because once I colored in the hands, paint bucket and blobs with darker colors I wanted the background to contrast with those darker objects so I made the background lighter.

What composition rules and techniques are showcased in your artwork?

I used the silhouette lighting technique to fill in important objects such as the hands, blobs of paint and the paint bucket.

How did your project evolve?

At first, I was just going to color everything in with colored pencil, but then I wanted certain things to stand out, so I made certain objects darker.

What is the meaning behind the artwork?

The meaning is that you can make something completely different from what it was once intended.

How does your project relate to your life?

My project relates to me because it shows that sometimes you have to take something and make something completely different from it.

If you think that your artwork could be stronger explain what you might consider revising.

I might burnish the background a little more next time.
