.) The subject of my creation is the sky view from my car while I was on my way down to Bar Harbor.
.) I created this piece of work with a scratch board and and scratch tools. I first started out with a reference image of the sky in Bar Harbor, then I gridded the image and the scratch board and began to scratch away different shades.
.) I chose to create this piece of artwork because we tried really hard to focus on pulling out the highlights in images, instead of what we have been doing with is pulling out the shades in images.
.) We used the techniques of hatching and dippliing in my work to show different shades in the image.
.) My project evolved by starting out as an image that was black and white, and turned into a scratchboard project that showcased many different techniques to represent different shades of black, grey and white.
.) The meaning behind the artwork is that it is difficult and very time consuming to completely switch techniques and perspectives in projects, but with patience and hardwork the project will still turn out well.
.) If I had the chance to revise my work I would not erase the gridelines, at first I didn't know that erasing would get rid of the matte look, and it kind of took away from my piece.
