Course Description: 
This course is focused on students who wish to develop skills and knowledge in learning how to disassembly a motor and parts, repair, replace and modify parts to ensure the car is rebuilt to its original design. Students will develop a variety of skills including: 
• Remove and replace parts 
• Rebuild engine 
• Repair and modify brakes 
• Repair body and accessories 
• Restore interior. 
Students will need to have a passion for working on cars with an attitude for excellence and perfection of work tasks.
The VET Certificate II Automotive Technology is a preemployment program designed to introduce students to automotive theory and culture. It provides students with a solid foundation of practical skills required to successfully gain an apprenticeship in the automotive industry
Pathways: 
This course will prepare students for work in the automotive industry in areas such as automotive repair, service and Mechanical Engineering. 
Year 1 (Unit 1 & 2):

AURASA102		Follow safe work practices in auto workplace 
AURETR103 		Identify auto elect systems and components 
AURETR115 		Inspect, test and service batteries 
AURLTA101		Identify automotive mechanical systems and components 
AURTTE007 		Dismantle and assemble single cylinder 
AURTTK102 		Use and maintain tools equipment in auto workplace 
Year 2 (Unit 3 & 4): 
AURETK003 		Operate electrical test equipment 
AURETR006 		Solder electrical wiring and circuits 
AURTTJ003 		Remove and replace wheel and tyre assemblies 
AURTTB007 		Remove and replace brake assemblies 
AURTTA127 		Carry out basic vehicle servicing operations 
AURTTE008 		Dismantle and assemble multicylinder four-stroke petrol engines 
Uniform: 
Students MUST wear black school work wear pants, black safety boots and school trade shirts. 
PLEASE NOTE: Students will not be able to enter the room if they are not wearing correct uniform. This is an industry Occupational Health and Safety requirement.
EQUIPMENT REQUIRED:
Students will need to have the following equipment to participate in the subject. Students will be excluded from class if they don't come in the required Personal Protective Equipment.
Laptop Computer:
A Laptop capable of running Microsoft 365 (Microsoft 365 is available to all Victorian Government School Students from the Department of Education)
Personal Protective School Uniform:
At minimum the students must wear the following in Trade Centre Classes:

Roxburgh College Trade Skills Centre Hi-Vis Sublimated Polo (Yellow and Black)
Black Safety Boots (Elastic Sided, Zip Up or Lace-up)
