Roxburgh College Vocational Education is a private RTO (Registered Training Organisation) situated in the campus of Roxburgh College. We train and assess students for VET programs. Roxburgh College Vocational Education is a Registered Training Organisation (RTO – No. 22612).
Vocational Education and Training (VET) is well recognised across the country for enabling people to develop the skills and knowledge to be job ready. Completing your VET in VCE studies is one important step in life-long learning.
If your GPA is suitable, it is poissible for you to study a VET subject from Year 10.
So what does this look like?
At Year 10 you can study a Year 11 VET subject. This means at the end of Year 10, you will achieve credit for up to 2 units of VCE / VCE VM.
At Year 11 you will then continue in your chosen VET subject and complete it as a Year 12 subject, attaining an ATAR if you elect to submit the SACs and sit the exam at the end of the year. This means at the end of Year 11, you will now achieve credit for up to 4 units of VCE / VCE VM.
More information is provided below.
There are two options for Year 10 students.
OPTION 1: Year 10 students can select up to two VET subjects to complete at Year 10 level. These are Semester-based courses only. Upon successful completion of the Semester subject, students can elect to continue with their VET subject at Year 11. Note that this is a 3-year option and students are expected to continue through to Year 12.
OPTION 2: Depending on elegibility, students can elect to complete a VET subject as part of a Year 11 and Year 12 course. This means that at Year 10, students can elect to complete a VCE VET subject as a Year 11 subject. In Year 11, students are then expected to complete the Year 12 component of the course.
