The 4B Special Triangles Test (yellow paper entitled Quiz 4B) which will be handed back to A day the next time we meet and the 4A Triangle Similarity Test (green) are the two major grades for this marking period and next week is the last week of the marking period. Students can raise both grades up to a 70 by retesting after completing a reteach. B day students received updated progress reports yesterday along with their graded tests.
Because of school being closed today, 4A Triangle Similary Retests are now Monday morning and afterschool and Tuesday after school. Students must complete the www.apexvs.com tutorial (4. Congruence and Similarity, only the Triangle Similarity and Similarity in Polygons Test Its) before coming to retest. E-mail me if you need to be reset so you can do the test it again.
4B Special Triangles retesting will be held on Thursday 2/13 (morning and afternoon) and Friday afternoon 2/14 so I can get grades posted before the end of the six weeks. Instead of the Apex tutorial, students must correct all missed problems and bring complete corrections with them to retest. A day students can get their tests on Monday (if it's not an A day, stop by outside of class so you will have more time to do corrections.) You will also be able to look up your grades tomorrow on Gradespeed.
Also a reminder that corrections for the 4A Spiral Quiz (green at the back of the 4A test) were due today but now due to weather are now due Monday (regardless of whether it is A day or B day). If you turn in corrections by the deadline but are handed back problems to fix, I will grant some extra time to do so. Again, you want to get these cleared up by Friday so we can get grade changes in for the end of the marking period.
I am going to do my best to be available as much as possible for tutoring for those who are struggling. I will do tutoring on retest days provided I am able to get my retesters started first and the students who want tutoring can get assistance with minimal disruption to retesters.
Next week, I have a meeting off campus after school Wednesday and will not be available for tutoring. Friday morning (2/14) we have a Mu Alpha Theta Math Club meeting and I will also be unavailable then.
Also, we will be having a Unit test on Wednesday and Thursday covering 8-2 through 8-4 and 5--8. This test will be going on the next six weeks to provide time for reteach and retest.
