Students signed for their report cards for the 5th marking period on 4/11 during second period. We're in the final stretch. That said, learning must continue and we have our next Unit 5C6A exam on Monday/Tuesday. This exam will cover primarily Chapter 10 in the textbook. Students who do 100% of the review packet (handed out 4/11 in A day and 4/12 on B day) will receive 5 bonus points on their unit exam. Additionally, the students who do 100% of the review packet can request extra time even if they do not have an accommodation for extra time. Students who have requested extra time will be allotted 30-45 minutes before or after school in one sitting within 36 hours of the scheduled test time to allow for grading and return of exams in a timely manner. I am also making videos for each of the problems on the review so if you get stuck you can check out my solution. The problem 4 video on cross sections should be very helpful and I recommend watching it even if you know the answer to this problem. I strongly recommend attempting the other problems before viewing the videos. You can access the review videos here on the test page under the lessons tab:
I also am handing back the 5C6A quiz 4/11 (A day) and 4/12 (B Day). Corrections for A day are due on 4/19 and B day are due on 4/22. I strongly recommend that corrections are done BEFORE taking the test since there are some problems on the quiz that are very similar or identical to those on the test and no, they are not the easy problems.
Our next unit will be incredibly short (only 2 instruction days) so our last unit exam will be on April 23rd and 24th, just a week after the previous unit exam. This is being done because we are planning 3-4 instruction days for EOC review. The date for the Geometry EOC has not been set yet, but the testing window is from May 6th-17th.
Don't forget about tutoring. My official tutoring times are Thursdays and Fridays after school, but I am almost always available, except for Wednesday afternoons and Friday mornings. Tutoring is not just for retest or corrections; feel free to come in with any questions.
