Objective: To learn how to construct triangles and quadrilaterals using dynamic geometry software (Geogebra) and congruent and perpendicular segments.
Homework for Next Time: Complete the worksheet Trapezoids, Kites and Parallelograms
You will watch each of these videos and perform the constructions described. I will be checking your progress and assisting. You should be making every object I create in the videos in addition to a parallelogram and a square.
Task 1: Introduction to Geogebra and constructing Congruent Segments
You should be able to construct 2 congruent segments without measuring.
Task 2: Create different quadrilaterals from congruent segments.
Be prepared to answer the question: What kind of quadrilaterals if I know the two opposite sides are congruent?
Task 3: Constructing Isosceles Triangles and Rhombuses (You may want to refer to this video again when creating a parallelogram)
Task 4: Constructing an Equilateral Triangle
Task 5: Constructing a Kite from Sides
Task 6: Constructing a Rectangle
Task 7: Construct a Square using one side as a reference - To be graded
(refer to task 6 above)
Task 8: Construct a Parallelogram using two different length sides - To be graded
(refer to rhombus and kite and see how you could use those)
