ABSTRACT
Over the past decade, as YouTube has exponentially grown in popularity, one type of content is becoming more prevalent: vloggers, a person who creates video blogs, whose content is primarily centered around covering and commentating about world news events. Vloggers are in a unique position when compared to online journalists and traditional news media. A news vlogger does not usually have a team of people they work with to report the news; many are entirely solitaire in their production and post-production. This leads to bias issues, accountability issues, and issues dealing with harm that their news coverage may cause. Analyzing news vlogging with traditional media ethics will help display the problems that this new niche can cause and has already caused. Analysis of such damage will be conducted by catalyzing a content creator who has received backlash for such issues in the past and their responses to the backlash, analysis will be conducted by analyzing DramaAlert’s host under the moniker of Killer Keemstar.
