ABSTRACT
It is important for students to be able to perform basic computer skills to navigate mathematic and literacy programs. iPads help make learning fun for children playing mathematic and reading games guided by teachers. At Bright Angels Academy, the goal is to provide access to technological devices and the developmentally appropriate training for all 20 students. Computer literacy helps children learn in multiple ways by typing, multi-touch navigation, and problem solving with puzzles and games. According to Murkoff (2019), ‘’In children with cognitive delays iPad apps can boost language use and social interaction.’’ Bright Angels currently has only two iPads total for the students, which causes frustration for both the students and teachers. With the proposed $5,000 grant, the funds will be used to purchase an iPad for each of the 20 students to use in the two preschool classrooms. The grant will support learning with technological devices that are accessible for all the preschool children and will also support more effective teaching for all preschool teachers.
