ABSTRACT

Teachers are an important part of society. They play an essential role in education, most especially in the lives of the students they teach. Early childhood teachers are historically underpaid and due to the COVID-19 pandemic, there is an increased shortage of teachers, especially early childhood teachers. Early childhood education and care is foundational to the economy and enables parents to go back to work after the pandemic. The teachers at Kamsy Preschool are diligent and hardworking. The goal for Kamsy Preschool and this grant proposal is to increase teachers pay and give bonuses to help retain staff. Grant funds will support the retention of teachers and help reduce the rate of teacher’s attrition. With an increase in pay, teachers will be more committed to their job and this will enable teachers to spend their time and efforts supporting the children's growth rather than looking for other higher paying teaching jobs.
