ABSTRACT
The teachers at Sunshine School do their best with the limited resources that they have. Many of the children do not have books that they can read at home with their families. Sunshine School does not have the funds for a full library like most public schools or like bigger city public libraries. Teachers want all children to have access to books. When families have books at home to read, their children’s reading level typically improves at school. The grant proposal would provide the children at Sunshine Schools books to have at home and this would enable the children to read and improve their reading level. This program would be for all children from birth through Grade 6. The school age children would have bags to bring the books back and forth to school. Younger children can also come to get books with their parents. All children would have the opportunity to choose the book of their liking to bring home and read.
