Hello B1 Families,

Thank you to all of our chaperones last week on the Camarillo House field trip and to all the volunteers who helped make Earth Day so special this year. 

CAASPP Testing

CAASPP Testing Practice: Below are step-by-step instructions if you would like to take CAASPP practice tests at home:

• Go to caaspp.org

• Click on the green button that says "practice and training tests"

• Click the green box that says "student interface practice and training tests"

• Click the green "sign in" button (no user or session ID required)

• Select 3rd grade from the drop-down menu

• Students can take any of the SMARTER BALANCED PRACTICE TESTS

Minimum Day: Students will be dismissed at noon on Wednesday, April 30th. 

OUR WEEK AT A GLANCE

Math: We will be starting a new module this week. Module 6 focuses on telling time, data and graphing. We will also be reviewing math concepts that we have learned throughout the year in preparation of CAASPP testing.

Reader's Workshop: This week, we will be taking practice CAASPP Performance Task. The performance task asks students to read multiple sources, take digital notes and write a multi-paragraph essay according to a prompt. We will be going over the format of the performance task, learning how to take digital notes, reviewing how to cite sources in our writing, and practicing writing a multi-paragraph essay. 

Writer's Workshop: This week, we will continue working on Opinion writing. Students will be writing about whether or not it is important to take care of the Earth since we learned about this last week for Earth Day. 

P.E.: Please dress appropriately on Monday and Thursday for P.E/dance every week. 

REMINDERS

• Return signed Weekly Green Folder Tuesday, April 29th

• Daily 20 reading log due on Friday, with a parent/grown up signature

• Sign communicator daily

• House Shirts every Thursday 

• Hawk Spirit Day every Friday
