Week 23
February 9-13
February 9-13
Hello B1 Families,
ANNOUNCEMENTS
President's Report: We will continue working on our President reports in class this week. Students will be writing an informational paragraph with the information that they learned last week. Your child may have come home with their rough draft to be finished at home. Please assist your child in completing this assignment if it was sent home. All completed rough drafts were due last week.
Valentine's Day: Your child may bring valentines to share with the class on Friday, 2/13. I do ask that you have your child write only their name, not the recipient's name on the item. This will help the passing out process. We have 30 students in our class.
OUR WEEK AT A GLANCE
Math: This week, students will be continuing Module 4 which focuses on polygons and area. We will be working on lessons 10 and 11. Students will work on a Study Guide on Wednesday and will take it home to review for their test on Thursday. Please make sure your child is practicing multiplication facts for at least 10 minutes a night. It is very important that they are fluent in multiplication facts. Students will take a multiplication test on Friday.
Reader's Workshop: This week, we will begin Unit 6: Making Decisions. Students will be focusing on the essential question: what helps us solve problems?
Writer's Workshop: Students will be working on an informational paragraph about their President. Students will be utilizing the information that they gathered last week from their President Research report.
Social Studies: Students will be learning about geography in week 7. We will be looking at maps and learning what a cartographers job is.
P.E.: Please dress appropriately on Monday for P.E every week.
