Week 18
January 6-9
January 6-9
Hello B1 Families,
Welcome back! Happy New Year! I hope you all had a wonderful winter break. Thank you for the very kind and thoughtful holiday gifts! I greatly appreciate all of you thinking of me. I am so excited to be back in our classroom with all of our wonderful students. Let's make 2026 an amazing year together!
ANNOUNCEMENTS
3rd Grade Behavior: This week, students will review classroom and school-wide expectations and procedures. While the transition from Winter Break back to school can be a challenge, I know our amazing 3rd graders can do it!
3rd Grade Benchmark Tests: Starting this week, students will be reading their Benchmark test independently. 3rd grade teachers will not be reading the passages or questions aloud anymore as we want students to build their confidence and comfortability by taking this test on their own. That being said, you may notice Benchmark test scores lower than usual. Please continue to review your child's Benchmark test with them when they return with it graded.
OUR WEEK AT A GLANCE
Math: We will continue with Module 3 this week. We will be working on lessons 13-16. Lessons 13 through 16 will cover patterns in multiplication. We will continue to have our multiplication test on Friday. Please continue to practice multiplication daily for 10 minutes.
Reader's Workshop: This week, we will be starting unit 5 Advancements in Technology. We will be answering our essential question: what is the value of innovation? Students will be taking a benchmark test on Friday.
Writer's Workshop: Students will be writing about their Winter Break as well as their New Year's goals.
P.E.: Please dress appropriately on Friday for P.E/dance every week.
