Week 20
January 21-24
January 21-24
Hello B1 Families,
ANNOUNCEMENTS
Benchmark Reading Tests: Prior to Winter Break, the Benchmark tests and questions were read aloud to all students to help them get used to the format and types of questions on these tests. Now that we are about halfway through 3rd grade, students will be reading the tests and questions independently. Please encourage your student through this learning curve as they become more independent in their reading skills.
OUR WEEK AT A GLANCE
Math: Please make sure your child is practicing multiplication facts for at least 10 minutes a night. Students are working towards mastering their x0-x6 (or higher) multiplication tables by the end of January. We will continue with lessons 13-15 this week.
Reader's Workshop: Students will continue working in our Benchmark books titled Comparing Points of View.
Writer's Workshop: Students will be finishing our unit on Martin Luther King Jr. with an "I Have a Dream" project.
P.E.: Please dress appropriately on Thursday for P.E/dance every week.
Social Studies: Students will be learning about how to use charts, maps and data in our next Studies Weekly lesson.
Science: Students will continue with our next lesson in our Balancing Forces unit.
