March 2-6
Hello B1 Families,
ANNOUNCEMENTS
Read Across America Week: This week is Read Across America week. Join us and participate in our fun week of activities & dressing up!
I have attached the schedule for the week at the bottom of this week's newsletter.
Tierra Linda Music & Dance Showcase: Save the date for our music and dance showcase on Friday, March 27th. 3rd grade will be performing from 1:00-1:30 in the MPR. We look forward to seeing you!
OUR WEEK AT A GLANCE
Math: We will be starting Module 5 this week. Module 5 focuses on fractions. We will be doing lessons 1-4. As always, we will have our multiplication test on Friday. The goal going forward is to master all multiplication facts x0-x12. Please make sure your child is practicing multiplication facts for at least 10 minutes each night.
Reader's Workshop: This week, we will be reviewing reading skills that we have learned so far in 3rd grade. We will especially focus on grade level standards such as finding the main idea, answering comprehension questions using evidence from the text, sequencing, and comparing/contrasting. We will also begin assessing students' current reading levels starting this week.
Writer's Workshop: Students will continue to practice Informational Writing. Students will be using their notes about Harriet Tubman from last week to write an informational paragraph this week.
Studies Weekly: This week students will be working on week 9 in our social studies curriculum. Week 9 focuses on natural features and landforms in California.
P.E.: Please dress appropriately on Monday for P.E/Dance every week.
