Week 12
November 4-8
November 4-8
Hello B1 Families,
Happy November! Thank you again to our amazing volunteers on Halloween. You all helped make our celebration special and your time spent here was greatly appreciated.
Book Fair: Our class will be going to the school book fair on November 12th. I sent home information about the book fair in your child's green folder.
OUR WEEK AT A GLANCE
Math: This week, we will continue working in Module 2, which focuses on measurement. Students will be reading temperatures and practicing rounding to the nearest ten or hundred. Students will use vertical number lines to solve problems involving rounding. Students will apply these skills to estimating sums and differences.
Reader's Workshop: Students will continue to participate in Reader's Workshop and work in their Benchmark books. This will be our last week in our Animal Adaptations books. We will continue reading The Wild Robot Escapes (this is book two of the Wild Robot series).
Writer's Workshop: This week students begin a poem about Fall and November. They will focus on descriptive language and the use of adjectives to add spice to their writing.
Social Studies: This week, students will continue with Week 12 in our Studies Weekly curriculum. Week 12 teaches students about migration!
Science: We will continue working in our first unit of study for Science, which is Balancing Forces.
P.E.: Please dress appropriately on Monday and Thursday for P.E/Dance Class every week.
