"Reflecting on the totality of my being - the richness of our shared identity, “proud” barely grazes the surface in capturing the magnitude and depth of my emotions when it comes to my Blackness. As a Black father, scholar, and change leader, I am filled with a sense of pride for who I am and the trailblazers who preceded me, clearing the path that allowed me - a Black man - to achieve the esteemed honor of serving as the first Black President of Prairie State College."

PSC was recently highlighted in Inside Higher Ed, a national higher education publication. You have all heard of the success of Opportunity Works, which is managed by Dr. SarRah Fridge. This article is further evidence, along with the fact that our program is recognized as the gold standard! Our biggest challenge is that the county wants us to do more!
Two things made this possible. First, the talented leadership and staff within our Workforce Development and Community Education (WDCE) division led by Executive Director Ms. Alisha Clark. The WDCE division does the work every day to make this program what it is. Kudos to this team! Second is the leadership, expertise, and relationships within our External Affairs division led by VP Jeri Bingham. The marketing and communications team, recently recognized with a Pioneer Award at the last Board meeting, made the connections and did the work to get this published and shared across a number of media outlets. Your support of our strategic investment in outreach and growing our brand continues to pay off.
The Emergency Operations Plan and Annual Security and Fire Safety Report are now available below and on the PSC Police Department intranet page. For questions, please contact Chief Anthony Martin at (708) 709-7834 or amartin@prairiestate.edu.
