Engineering Skills at SCQF Level 5
Course Outline
This qualification covers the fundamental skills and knowledge common to all engineering and manufacturing practices including Design, Mechanical, Maintenance, Electrical, Electronics, Fabrication and Manufacture.
The qualification is comprised of 4 mandatory units and they are designed to substantially improve the practical skills of the student, by manufacturing a number of different items from a series of engineering drawings to within a given tolerance.
Entry Level
No formal entry requirements but the student must :
have a keen interest in engineering
have an ability to work in numeracy and literacy at SCQF level 5
be a good communicator
be a team player
be prepared to commit to the course
Due to high demand there is only 12 places on this course, a strong personal statement will be required
