Course Outline
The HNC Accounting award is designed to offer candidates, who have completed their Highers and have a general interest in Accountancy or Financial Services, the opportunity to progress to the next academic level while still at school.
Entry Level Recommended
Must already have one Higher (Grade C and above) or a minimum of 5 subject passes at Nat 5 level (minimum grade of 3 A’s & 2 B’s) which must include Maths & English.

Depending on numbers in class, a variety of options may be offered including Economics, Business Plans, Personal Financial Services, Spreadsheets, Business Law, Payroll
Progression
Two progression options are available:
Students may wish to apply for the HND which will then be completed in one further year, rather than the normal two years.
Alternatively, many Universities, such as Glasgow Caledonian and UWS, will accept the HNC as a first year University course equivalency. The progression therefore would be to apply for a (Business related) second year entrance directly from school.
