Creative Industries - Skills for Work at SCQF level 5

The creative industries combine Technological skills with Creativity and Design. They are of increasing importance in providing employment to young people in Scotland.

Course Outline

This course will help you to develop skills and attitudes which are needed to work in the creative industries sector. You’ll investigate a range of sectors and career opportunities before selecting one sector and job role to focus on. You’ll complete a project by the end of the course.

This is a creative subject with a technical element, but no previous experience is required. There are lots of ways to contribute to projects that are not obviously ‘creative’ and you’ll practise a wide range of skills to produce a portfolio and take part in practical activities. Since you’ll be working across subjects, this course will help you decide if you want a career spanning a range of sectors or if you want to specialise in one.
