Begin Make-up Artistry at SCQF Level 4

(National Progression Award - Cosmetology Framework)

Course Outline

The National Progression Award in Cosmetology consists of 4 credits. Students will work on units such as Make-up Artistry, Product Awareness, Career Options and Choices, Health and Safety and Preparing and Assisting in the Workplace Environment.

• During the course, students will work with customers and colleagues.

• Written work is part of all units within the course

Entry Level

There are no formal entry requirements. Entry is at the discretion of the college. Students should have a keen interest in TV and Theatrical Makeup and Art.

Please note that this course is Make-Up Artistry and NOT Fashion Make-Up.

In line with the guidelines for successful completion, students must adhere to all requirements which include: 

• students working on each other's makeup 

• being prepared to participate in skin care

• removal of make up and having make up reapplied

Progression - What Next?

On completion of this course there is the opportunity to apply for the full-time National Certificate course in Make-Up which starts in August.
