Course Outline
This Foundation Apprenticeship is delivered by WDC Working4u in partnership with a Learning Partner who will provide the skills training.
The Construction Craft foundation apprenticeship allows you to experience various trades and start thinking about career pathways and what you’d like to do. This course is aimed at students who would prefer a more hands on practical based experience rather than focusing on a paper-based academic approach.
This mainly practical apprenticeship is designed to build your skills and allow you to experience a wide range of tasks.
To get the most from this hands-on approach to learning, you will need to commit to regular attendance so that your skills can develop.
This will build your confidence and make you more resilient when dealing with challenges.
The course will deliver 4 of the following units from the Foundation Apprenticeship framework.
J4E3 04 Work-based Skills Challenge
Employability and Behavioural Skills - (HA4A45)
Construction Crafts: One Brick Walling - (J153 75)
Decorative Painting - (F1K9 11)
Develop Site Joinery Skills – (F1L3 11)
Entry Requirements
This course is open to anyone in S4, S5 or S6 who has an interest in learning the necessary skills required to seek employment in the construction industry.
