Kami
PDF Annotation
Kami allows you to take any existing document, including scanned PDFs, and write, draw, type and annotate. It is a wonderful tool for students who have difficulties writing by hand.
Students using their OUSD Chrome accounts do not have access to add extensions. Please request this extension through your teacher or case manager.
Setting Up Kami
Click the Kami extension on the upper right of the screen.
If you do not see the Kami extension, click the jigsaw icon to open the Extensions window. Click the pin to "pin it" to the extensions bar.
If the icon is not available, please request this extension through your teacher or case manager.
Log in With Google.
Choose your OUSD account.
When the prompted, scroll down to the bottom.
Click Allow.
Complete sign up: make sure School is selected, then click Student.
Click Finish.
Watch the introduction video and click Continue.
Opening PDFs in Kami
There are two ways to open PDFs in Kami.
1.
Open a file from Google Drive in the Kami web viewer. Once opened, the file will show up under Recents.
or
2.
Open a PDF document. This could be from Google Drive, Classroom or from a website.
If the Preview window pops up, click Open with, then select Annotate with Kami.

Have a PDF scanned ahead of time.
