Adobe Express and WeVideo can be used to create book reports or book reviews. The students import images that fit the story, put the images in order in iMovie/Adobe Express/WeVideo, and then add voiceover. Here are some tutorials and resources:

Conferring with Doc Appender

DocAppender is a Google Form Add-On that organizes your conferring notes. DocAppender also organizes notes in a folder and timestamps them. Here are some resources:

Fluency Practice With Shadow Puppet

Shadow Puppet is an app that allows the user to create mini-slideshow movies. It's a great option if you'd like to hear students record their voices as they read several pages of text, or if you'd like students to publish their writing. Shadow Puppet movies are easily shared to Seesaw or the iPad Camera Roll.

Book Reviews with Google Forms

As students finish their books, they can submit a review using Google Forms. Teachers may grant access to the results so that students can see each other's recommendations and get inspired to read more!

Book Selfie

Students provide a summary of a book they've read as well as suggestions on similar books and recommendations. Students also include a book selfie with themselves and the book they are sharing.

Book Clubs Using Google Classroom

Google Classroom can be used to create a forum for book clubs. Teachers create separate Classrooms for each club; club members post thoughts and reply to one another on the Stream, post reading assignments for group members, and host group projects on the Classroom. Book Clubs/Character Study Using Flip

Flip is a video posting site that allows users to post quick selfie videos. To use Flipgrid for book clubs, create a Topic for each club and have the students post assignments, questions, and thoughts. For character study, students can post videos acting out scenes as characters from their books based on teacher prompts (e.g., "What would you do if you were _______?").

Magnetic Poetry is a creative writing aid consisting of individual words—often related to a particular theme or topic—typed into on small text boxes which can be creatively arranged into poetry. Here are some resources:
