This assignment is an example of a project we were tasked to complete for our Forensic Class. This project was a group assignment where I worked together with two other classmates. This project required all of us to work together and do research on a case about someone who was wrongfully convicted. We choose Malcolm Alexander, a man wrongfully convicted for the sexual assault of a white women on November 5, 1980. Malcolm was exonerated January 30, 2018, 37 years later after spending this time in prison. I have specifically chosen this project to reflect an assignment I can look upon and grow from. For the reason of not getting a perfect score on this project and some roadblocks which occurred in the process of completing this project. Some of the roadblocks which we faced was an incomplete assignment as we did not meet all the requirements. We did not fully look at the rubric and because of that we were not able to meet all the criteria. In addition, we were not able to manage our time properly to ensure the project was to the fullest of our ability. As a result, looking back at this assignment, I can learn to properly manage the time needed to complete an assignment and also work towards looking at the rubric more often in order to meet all requirements of the assignment.
This assignment is an example of a project which we were tasked to compete for our Forensic Class. This project was an individual assignment for Black History Month. In this assignment, we were tasked to create a poster with both images and writing. Each box contained their own question to be answered. For example, as this assignment was tailored to Black History Month, one of the questions was "What are some challenges inherent to BIPOC persons in that field". BIPOC refers to Black, Indigenous, and people of color and the field which I chose to speak about was Forensic Engineering. Through research, I found that BIPOC students are generally at a disadvantage when entering into STEM fields as they face lack of representation and support to enter into these fields. I specifically chose this assignment to be one I can look back and views as a glow assignment. I was able to get a perfect score. Some of the things I did which helped in getting that perfect score was time management and thorough research. This assignment was given to me after the Innocence Project assignment in which I grew and learned to manage my time appropriately. Thorough research on the topic of Forensic Engineering and BIPOC students allowed me to comfortably ansewer the questions and get my point across in each little section.
