This assignment is an example of one of the many sketches/designes which we were tasked with creating for our Engineering Design and Development Class. At this point in time, we have already decided on the problem which each one of the three groups will tackle for this capstone project. The group I was apart of tackled the issue of mouth breathing in relation to improper tongue posture and nasal breathing. Following the design process, we have made it to the section where we generated concepts and skecthes on what the product would look like. Each of the three members of the RMW team was tasked with creating ten possible sketches. I envisioned this product remaining in a similar design fashion as current night guards and the tongue positioner remaining in the middle of it. I have chosen this assignment as a glow assignment because of how successful I was in creating various possible designs of the product. I used my imagination, creativity, and research to create these designs which would would focus on maximizing improving tongue posture and comfort. In addition, through this process, the RMW team was able to find a major flaw in most designs and that was its protection of the lingual frenulum. For this reason, out of the thirty sketches created we combined the design of two of our sketches, one with the design of having the tongue positioner attach to the back area of the night guard with a gap which would safely place the lingual frenulum when it is extended. To conclude, I can look back at this assignment and be proud of the sketches and various designs I was able to create for this product. 

This assignment is an example of one of the various Mentor Lists that we were tasked to complete for our Engineering Design and Development Class. At this point in time, the groups were decided for this capstone project. The next step was to search for possible mentors which could guide us through the entire process of creating this product. Our group was in dire need of a mentor due to the large amount of knowledge which we lacked about oral health. A dentist/orthodontist/ or oral surgeon would be our best bet in finding a mentor. Each member of the RMW team was tasked with creating a list of possible mentors and then emailing them. I have chosen this assignment as a grow assignment because of the struggles which came upon looking for a mentor. I struggled tremendously on finding possible mentors because of a lack of contacts. Majority of the dentist and orthodontist found online were working under a company and their was a lack of contacts. Limiting my ability to contact them through email or phone. In addition, the possible mentors which I emailed never responded to me back. For this reason, I was unable to contact a mentor who could guide our group during this capstone project which hindered our progress during this capstone project. To conclude I can look back at this assignment as one I can grow upon. Instead of only sending emails, another approach I could have taken was phone calling and also doing extensive research on finding personal emails.
