This assignment is an example of a project which we were given for our AP English Literature and Composition Class. This was a group project where you worked with two other classmates. We were tasked with finding specific examples of figurative language, imagery, and symbolism inside of the book, the Kite runner. Up to this point, we finished reading the Kite runner and were beginning to analysis and discuss the specific techniques which the authored used to develop a coming of age story. My part in this group project was to find the an example of figurative language inside of the Kite Runner. I gathered two quotes with an explanation each on how each quote portrayed figurative language. For example, when Amir described himself as a thief, monster in the lake, and a snake, it was all being referenced to the upcoming moment when Hassan left their house. Amir was dragging down Hassan which in the end killer thier friendship. I have specifically chosen this assignment to be portrayed as an assignment to look back on and grow on. We were not able to get a perfect score on this assignment and the reason we did not was because I was not able to fully explain how figurative language came into play for the second quote. In addition, we did not manage our time properly, causing us to rush and not fully enhance the structure and design of the slides. As a result, I will look back on this assignment to properly learn how to manage our time and learn to go more in depth when explaining how a writing tool is being portrayed in a specific section of the book.
This assignment is an example of a quiz which were given for our AP English Literature and Composition Class. This was a quiz we were given in order to quiz our understanding of the Literary terms which we would then use for our future assignments. It was match the word to the definition type of quiz. In this quiz, I was able to get a perfect score. The reason why I chose this quiz specifically to display as a glow assignment is because of the success I had on it. In the past, I struggled with definition quizzes because I would find myself forgetting or questioning myself last minute. However, for this quiz, I decided to go about a different approach and learn of a specific example of when one would of the literary techniques would come into play. In addition, I worked on not trying to learn the entire definition but worked on picking the most important points and words inside of the definition. In doing this, I was able to prevent myself from mixing up the definitions and was able to not only quickly finish the quiz but fully understand the each literary term. I will continue to use the same strategy which helped me succed in this literary quiz in future defition quizzes.
