Dear Falls-Lenox Families,

It has been a great full week at FLPS! Students participated in Student Engagement Assemblies where they will learned about our PBIS building-wide expectations (Be Safe, Be Responsible, Be Respectful, and Be Kind), and the various student club opportunities available at Falls-Lenox. Students can earn Bulldog Bucks for following our school rules! Students are also participating in Bus Safety Sessions where they learn about safe behavior on the bus.

Next week, on Tuesday, September 1st, the Girl Scouts will be coming to talk with the students during the lunch periods. In addition, our tutors will be working with first graders to administer AIMS Web assessments. These assessment give us information on how well students know their letters, letter sounds, and how well they can read words in isolation. We will also be starting our Bulldog Best Award next week! As part of our PBIS program, each week, teachers nominate a student for the Bulldog Best Award! Students who earn this award get to select a book from our vending machine and will be entered into a drawing for a special Chic-Fil-A lunch that month! We will also open our new "Bulldog Buck Store" next week! Bulldog Bucks will get drawn on the morning show and winners will be able to select a prize from the shop! Parents/guardians should have received an email this week to update or complete student registration information in PowerSchool. Please use the following link -www.ofcs.net to log in to your existing PowerSchool parent account.

Morning Car Riders - If you are dropping off your child in the morning, please pull in by Kids First Daycare and drop off your child at the side door. No cars are permitted in the front loop of the school until AFTER 7:50 p.m., as buses are entering and unloading.

Transportation - Bus assignments are available through the "My Ride app"/web portal. You can locate your child's Student ID Number within your PowerSchool Parent account (needed for My Ride). We encourage you to have your child ride the bus, however if your child is not going to be riding the bus to or from school, please make sure that you have completed an alternate transportation form. In addition, please write a note stating how your child will be getting home, if not riding the bus. When picking up your child as a car rider, parents will pull in by Kids First, circle around, and pick up on the Kids First Side of Falls-Lenox. We ask all parents/guardians to remain in their vehicles, pull forward, and a staff member will assist your child. We appreciate your patience the first couple weeks with the car rider line!

Exciting News for Bulldog Families!

We're Teaming Up with the Cleveland Browns for a Special School Attendance Program!

The Falls-Lenox attendance line number is: 440-427-6411. A parent/guardian must call the Attendance Line each & every day his/her student(s) will be absent from school.

The following information must be provided: Student name, reason for absence, and parent/guardian name and contact phone number. Students will be considered truant from school if parent/guardian contact is not received. In the event a parent/guardian neglects to notify the main office of an absence, a written note must be provided upon return to school. All written verification must be received in the main office immediately upon the student’s arrival to school. Please refer to the student handbook posted on our website for specific information regarding excused and unexcused absences.

Dear Families

We’re kicking off something exciting this year at Olmsted Falls City Schools—and we want YOU on our team! We’re proud to announce our new partnership with the Cleveland Browns Foundation as part of the Stay in the Game! Attendance Network.

The Stay in the Game! program is all about helping students come to school every day, ready to learn and grow. Why? Because being in school regularly makes a BIG difference—especially for our youngest learners! When students miss too many days, it can be hard to catch up on learning, build friendships, and stay connected.

🏈 What Is “Stay in the Game!”?

It’s a statewide program that works with schools and families to help kids:

Build strong attendance habits
Stay excited about school
Celebrate small wins and progress along the way

And yes—there will be fun events, surprises, and special moments throughout the year inspired by our hometown football team, the Cleveland Browns!

🐾 Why Attendance Matters—Even in the Early Years:

Missing just 2 days a month adds up to over 3 weeks of missed learning each year.
Regular routines help young children feel safe, confident, and successful.
Showing up every day builds the habits and skills that last a lifetime.

We know that life can be busy, and sometimes things come up. That’s why we’re here to support you with resources, encouragement, and creative solutions to help your child “stay in the game” all year long.

School Times:

School Day: 8:00-2:35

Tardy Bell: 7:55 a.m. (Students must be in their classrooms by 8:00 a.m. Students entering classrooms after 8:00 a.m. will be marked tardy.)

Office Hours: 7:30-3:30 (You can leave a message after 3:30 p.m.)

Note: If your child is a car-rider, doors open at 7:35 a.m. and are open until 7:55 a.m. The side doors are locked at 7:55 a.m. If your child is coming to school after 7:55 a.m., they will need to enter through the front doors. If your child plans to eat breakfast, please have them at school by 7:45. Students cannot enter prior to 7:35 am.

Clinic Policy - Please do not send your child to school with a fever, diarrhea, or more than 2 of the following symptoms: cough, shortness of breath, chills, fever, sore throat, loss of taste or smell, headache, diarrhea. Students cannot return to school after a fever, vomitting, or diarrhea until they have gone 24 hours symptoms free (without Tylenol for a fever). Call off your child using our attendance line: 440-427-6411.
